Information We Collect
Grouppin collects the following information to provide its services:
- Account information — your email address and display name when you sign in.
- Location data — your precise GPS location while you have sharing enabled in an event. Location is only transmitted to other participants of the same event and is not stored after the event ends.
- Device token — used to send push notifications. We do not use this for advertising.
How We Use Your Information
- To show your location to other participants in events you have joined and enabled sharing for.
- To send push notifications about event activity.
- To authenticate your account securely.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Location data is shared only with other participants of the same event, only while you have sharing enabled.
Data Retention
Location data is not persisted after an event ends. Account data is retained until you delete your account. You can delete your account at any time from the Profile tab in the app, which will permanently remove all your data.
Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS/TLS. We use industry-standard practices to protect your information.
Children
Grouppin is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
